Inspiring advice from Guy Lambert
Hello, I'm Guy Lambert. I started TV Presenting Advice in 2010 while I was conducting auditions to find a new CBBC presenter. I saw many people do brilliant things, but also make fatal mistakes. I also met many who had been on training courses to learn how to present, but left thinking "what's next?" So, I thought I should help presenters find out what it's really like to both audition and work with them, specifically from a television behind-the-scenes perspective.
Not only have I spent years working as a producer and director, but I've also been a talent agent. During my career, I’ve produced, cast, and represented a range of people, from TV and radio presenters to YouTubers, and expanded my range of services to include those beyond just presenting TV advice.
Whether you’re a newcomer or more experienced, wanting to present on TV or online or both, I believe that my advice from an experienced TV producer and agent perspective can help transform your journey. [NB: The prices are for individuals. If you're a company (agency etc) needing training, then please email me to discuss company rates.]
The Presenting Workshop is a private, informal, one-to-one online session where we can discuss how you could break into presenting or develop your existing on-screen career.
My advice is not focused on about how to present (although we will cover the fundamentals of that too, especially when reviewing your content), but about trying to get attention from the right people through marketing yourself. We will discuss:
We’ll look at your work (showreel or video), and explore why you may be holding back from achieving your goals. It'll give you a new perspective that will revitalise ambitions and hopefully ignite new ones.
For individuals it is just £75 for 1 hour, which includes a PDF copy of my 'How to Succeed as a TV Presenter' book.
Send me your showreel, and I'll tell you what I think!
Just £20 for a review in the form of written assessment. Please let me know who your showreel is aimed at (i.e., music TV, agents, your YouTube channel) so I can assess its impact. If you don't have a showreel, then any video of you presenting is fine.
Need some more advice after our session?
I don't want to abandon you to go it alone. Sometimes you might want a follow-up chat, maybe to review how you're doing, chat about a specific job or video, or just get something off your chest! Just £30 for a 45-minute chat.
Having worked for CBBC, CiTV, Nick Jr and others, this genre has become a speciality of mine. So, if it's your dream to entertain the young ones, then this in-depth follow-up to the Presenting Workshop will help you explore making it a reality.
We'll also explore the difference between presenting to children in person and on-camera. Like the Presenting Workshop, it’s one-to-one, informal, and online.
Just £75 for 1 hour, which includes a PDF copy of my 'Presenting for Children's TV' book, and two script books.
Please note: this is a specific, supplementary class, intended for those who have already attended the Presenting Workshop. However, although I still recommend you do the Workshop first, due to popular demand, I am now making this available to everyone.

The picture is of me in 2009, with CBBC's Oucho the Cactus! I’ve been a producer, director, and writer for over 20 years, working with talent including Jake Humphrey, Angellica Bell, and Iain Stirling. During this time, I’ve been part of productions for the BBC, Disney, Sky, Brandfuel, McKinsey, and ITV, and many more! You can find out more on my LinkedIn
With Presenting Advice, I’ve advised talent who have gone onto present for Capital Radio, Disney, BBC Studios, and more.
I also used to run GL Talent, gaining work for presenters at companies such as MTV, Bauer Radio, and ITV. I also initiated meetings with major production companies, leading to a deal to develop a game show. Among many highlights: a client had his first Edinburgh stand-up show, one became a successful YouTuber, and another appeared on BBC Three.
I’ve auditioned 100s of people, worked with over 100 presenters, and watched well over 1000 showreels! During lockdown I ran free presenter advice sessions for the BBC and Screenskills.

Please let me know if there's something that isn't covered here.
I've coached many experienced people who perhaps need a confidence boost, a new perspective on their career, or they want an objective analysis on how they can achieve goals. If you have specific requirements (i.e., to spend an hour practising scripts), do let me know and we can arrange a chat.
If you're attending the Workshop or Masterclass, then any video of you speaking to camera is fine. I can also send scripts that you can perform live in our workshop or record beforehand. Many people who attend the Workshop do not have any experience nor videos. I do not believe anyone needs a 'professional' showreel (made by someone else) so don't worry about the quality of editing etc
My schedule is very flexible, especially over weekends, so just let me know your preferred days/times and let's make it work!
At the moment I am only offering services online, but hopefully one day soon!
You can pay via Paypal or Bank Transfer. I always ask for payment 24hrs in advance of our session.
